My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997)

Yes, its cheesy. And yes, you’re partner has probably forced you to watch it one too many times, but this popular scene from My Best Friend’s Wedding definitely fulfills all the criteria required of a great movie sing along. Starting out as a solo effort from Rupert Everett (remember that guy) but over time slowly building into an all out mass acapella rendition of Aretha Franklin’s I Say A Little Prayer. Ridiculous as it may be, it’s still probably better than half the songs on the Pitch Perfect soundtracks.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986)

Sing alongs don’t get much bigger than the famous parade scene from John Hughes’ classic teen comedy. Performing in front of half of Chicago, Ferris tackles two different musical numbers, with Danke Schoen casually leading into a euphoric version of The Beatles’ Twist & Shout. The scene in question involved a crowd of ten thousand people and was filmed over two weekends, the first of which being during an actual parade, unbeknownst to everyone except the film’s cast and crew.
