This seriously needs to happen folks.
There’s been rumblings in the interwebs for years of a concept and plot line for a potential 3rd and final movie in the Hellboy franchise. Guillermo Del Toro talked about it during a Reddit AMA last year, and now Hellboy himself, Ron Perlman, has added his voice to the chorus through his twitter and facebook accounts:
Anybody out there wanna see #HellboyIII as much as I do? Let's get this muthafucka trending, y'all!
Let's end the trilogy; we earned it!— Ron Perlman (@perlmutations) June 3, 2015
Which was then followed by a show of support from fellow co-stars Doug Jones (Abe Sapien) and Selma Blair (Liz Sherman):
@perlmutations Locking elbows with you, Big Brother Red!! #HellboyIII

Both Hellboy and Hellboy 2 are still two of my favourite comic book movies ever. They were trailblazers in the genre, before the movies became a license to print money and therefore every second movie was a comic adapatation. It also allowed Del Toro the free reign to create a dark and fantastical world, before people sat up and took notice with Pan’s Labrynith.
I for one hope that this somehow comes to fruition. The first two movies were by no means runaway successes (grossing about $260 million worldwide between them), but in this day and age of multiple distribution avenues, is it really too much to ask for a studio, or even Netflix or Amazon, to come on board and make this happen?
Just putting it out there…
