The Week In News – Here’s What You May Have Missed

In between the Deadpool 2 casting rumours at the start of the week and the Justice League trailer released today, there has been some other news that hit the web this week. So in case you missed it, we have you covered.

A little over a month ago Kevin Smith announced on his Instagram that he was bringing back his own dynamic duo to the big screen. What you may not have known is that Brian O’Halloran (Dante) and Marilyn Ghigliotti (Veronica) from Clerks are attending OZ Comic Con Perth and Adelaide. During a Facebook live chat a few days ago O’Halloran offered up some info on the upcoming sequel. Kevin Smith is hard at work writing the script and is currently up to his third draft that currently has Jay and Silent Bob going back to Hollywood to stop a reboot of the old Bluntman & Chronic movie. During the live chat he also offered up the reason why we won’t be seeing a Clerks 3, it seems that Randall (Jeff Anderson) was not interested in reprising his role, so Kevin Smith opted to do a Jay And Silent Bob reboot instead.

Kevin Smith is due to start filming the reboot in August this year with a tentative release scheduled for summer 2018.

A Jay and Silent Bob Reboot? Who would pay to see that?

Chris Evans stated during the week that he doesn’t know if he will wield the shield after Avengers: Infinity War Part 2.  His contract is up after the two part movie and that it is up to Marvel if he continues on as the star-spangled man with a plan, Captain America. For those of you who don’t follow comic book cannon, Steve Rogers was assassinated and close friend Bucky took up the mantle of Captain America. Could Marvel kill off Steve Rogers during Infinity War? Or is Chris Evans too valuable to lose from the MCU?

Some interesting concept art appeared online during the week, Brad Pitt as Cable. Brad Pitt was at one point highly considering playing Nathan Summers in the upcoming Deadpool 2. Brad has since moved on from talks with Fox and is currently developing World War Z 2.

Sony has unveiled a new teaser poster for Spider-Man: Homecoming and boy is it…lazy. The Marvel/Sony feature will see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man going up against Michael Keaton’s Vulture where you can be sure he won’t take things lying down. Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theatres here in Australia July 6th, 2017.

Well, that’s it for yet another week. Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
