Roadshow Entertainment have just dropped the first trailer to the mysterious space thriller Passengers from director Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are two passengers onboard a spaceship transporting them to a new life on another planet. The trip takes a deadly turn when their hibernation pods mysteriously wake them 90 years before they reach their destination. As Jim and Aurora try to unravel the mystery behind the malfunction, they begin to fall for each other, unable to deny their intense attraction… only to be threatened by the imminent collapse of the ship and the discovery of the truth behind why they woke up.
Man, after that much sleep, I hope I wake up and look that good!
Why are they awake? Does Chris Pratt know more than he is letting on? Hopefully, the trailer hasn’t given as much away as it seems! I dig the look of the film and it would be such a waste to see the whole thing unfold in the trailer. It’s surreal to see how many people they are trying to please with this trailer, you have the Sci-Fi lovers, the Romance lovers, and finally the action lovers. From where I’m sitting Passengers will appeal to everyone and their dog!
Lawrence and Pratt are basically the biggest actors in the world right now, and with this going up against Rogue One in the Christmas releases it will be interesting to see who comes out on top!
PASSENGERS crash lands in the U.S. on December 21 and in Australia on January 1, 2017.
