Unlike the rest of the ‘So Is It Any Good?’ Team, I wasn’t a fan of Mad Max: Fury Road. I felt there was a lack of any real story, the acting was average and the characters weren’t interesting. However… I could appreciate the spectacle, the incredible stunt work and the production design. The fact that this film used mostly practical effects set it apart from current modern blockbusters. Despite Director George Miller wanting to keep CGI to a minimum, he did however need to add a few flourishes in post-production to crank this blockbuster up to 11.
