Wonder Woman is Kicking Arse in the New Comic Con Trailer

Over the years we’ve seen fan films, heard rumours over casting and directing… and now Wonder Woman has this new kick arse trailer, straight from Hall H.  Admittedly, my knowledge of Wonder Woman is pretty limited, apart from the retro 70’s TV show starring Lynda Carter, which seems worlds away from her latest incarnation.  The trailer sets up our heroine’s origin when she was more modestly known as ‘Diana, Princess of the Amazons’.  I’m interested to find out more about her backstory, especially as it touches on Greek Mythology, my favourite type of mythology.wonder-woman-image-57Director Patty Jenkins has had a great career in TV, with her only other feature focusing around different type of strong female character – 2003’s Monster starring Charlize Theron.  If you thought Zack Synder was completely out of the picture, think again.  He’s credited as a writer, which is fair to say is the least strong of his set of skills [cough] Sucker Punch [cough]. It looks like DC is really upping their game with Suicide Squad and Justice League.  wonder-woman-image-24Gal Gadot looks strong, both physically and in performance, my main concern is that I won’t be able to see Chris Pine as anything other than Captain Kirk, I hope he proves me wrong.  On a personal note, I’ve just come back from a trip to France where I visited the site of the WWII Normandy landings which makes me curious as to how they’ll handle the war aspect of this movie.  The problem I’ve always had with Wonder Woman and Superman, is that when a character is so indestructible to any threat from our world, where’s the sense of danger?  So I feel that unless the enemy is from their own realm or Kryptonite, they’re indestructible and therefore a bit dull.  Feel free to educate me (constructively) in the comments section below.

Here’s the Warner Brothers official press release and updated synopsis:
