‘Wonder’ Hits You In The Feels With It’s Debut Trailer

The first trailer for Wonder has dropped, bringing with it all the feels. You can check out the trailer above. Based on the novel of the same name by R.J. PalacioWonder tells the story of Auggie, a young boy with a facial disfigurement, struggling to find his place both in the world and at school.

The official synopsis is below:

Based on the New York Times bestseller, Wonder tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to discover their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson play Auggie’s supportive parents, while Jacob Tremblay will portray young August. It looks like Tremblay will have no shortage of work in the coming years, having shot to fame with his incredible performance in Room, and also set to appear in 2018’s The Predator.

Stephen Chbosky – who both wrote the novel and directed the film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower – directs. He certainly seems to have found his niche with the coming-of-age films. If Wonder is half as good as Perks we should be set for a heartwarming and touching film about family, inner-beauty, and acceptance. It certainly has all the right ingredients in terms of source material, actors, and director.

WONDER releases into cinemas on November 17, 2017.
