Where Are The Cast Of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” Now?

Slasher film I Know What You Did Last Summer turned 20 years old today, I can honestly say I am feeling very old. The movie may not have been critically panned but gave us a classic looking hook-handed villain and glorious slasher thrills. We were also introduced to some of the biggest names in Hollywood that would dominate for several years to follow. So, where is the cast of I Know What You Did Last Summer now?

FPJFreddy Prinze Jr

What a stellar few years FPJ had in Hollywood. After landing the role of Ray in the first film, he went on to star in the sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. He also landed the role of Fred in Scooby Doo with his wife and also Summer co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar. The two got married in 2002. FPJ’s careed in film has been small, often trying out for roles but ultimately missing out to other actors, although he has had a big hand in voice acting work as well as other television roles. His major roles involved playing Cole Ortiz in season 8 of the 24 series, as well as playing Jedi Master Kanan Jarrus in the smash hit Star Wars Rebels. He also voiced The Iron Bull in the video game Dragon Age: Inquisition. A wrestling die-hard, FPJ was also hired as a backstage producer and writer for WWE between 2010 and 2012.

Sarah Michelle GellarSarah Michelle Gellar

Another actor who enjoyed some monster years in the late 90’s and early 2000’s thanks to major roles as Buffy Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and as the resident bad girl Kathryn in Cruel Intentions. Along with her husband she starred as Daffney Blake in Scooby Doo and its sequel as well as landing the lead role horror movie The Grudge. Gellar has continued to keep a foot in the Hollywood pool, and while not the mega star she once was, still has langed some significant work. She played April O’Neil in 2007’s TMNT and appeared as the Seventh Sister in Star Wars Rebels. She appeared in a lead role alongside the late Robin Williams in 2013’s The Crazy Ones. She reprised her role as Kathryn in 2016’s Cruel Intentions pilot but the series was not picked up.

Jennifer Love HewittJennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt could not have had a better career in the 90’s rising to stardom after starring in the hit show Party of Five. After Last Summer, Hewitt had continued success in supporting roles in family friendly movies in the early 2000’s, the biggest of which was Garfield. Hewitt continued to have large success in television, starring in the series Ghost Whisperer from 2005-2010. She then landed the lead role in her self produced series The Client List. She most recently starred as Kate Callahan in Criminal Minds in 2014. Hewitt also tried her hand at music, recording a song for the sound track to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. However, she has been minimally active in the music industry, releasing her last song in 2013.

bridgette wilsonBridgette Wilson

Since her role as Elsa Shivers in Last Summer, Wilson had about a decade of success in film and television. However, she definitely was not as successful as her more famous counterparts, although I still think she would be making tonnes of money from her 1995 performance in Billy Maddison as Veronica Vaughn. Her major acting credits came in 1999’s horror remake of the House On Haunted Hill and 2001’s The Wedding Planner. Wilson landed guest roles in many television series like Fraiser and CSI: Miami but has been quiet since 2008. She married tennis player Pete Sampras in 2000 which lead to her featuring in his television special. Wilson also tried her hand off-Broadway, starring in The Rocky Horror Show.

Johnny GaleckiJohnny Galecki

Most people forget many of Galecki’s roles before 2007. His role in the film is also often forgotten. Galecki landed several big supporting roles in movies like Vanilla Sky, but were often not memorable or important. He did get a rejuvenated career in the form of mega hit The Big Bang Theory, a show which has run to the present since 2007. Let that sink in for a minute fellow nerds. The Big Bang Theory is over 10 years old itself. Galecki has taken roles in some films but essentially never has to work again after the sitcom finishes. He did rejoin the horror genre in 2017 starring in another reboot of The Ring.

ryan phillippeRyan Phillippe

Ryan is another actor who went on to star in Cruel Intentions with Freddy Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Ryan has gone on to land many roles, some of which have been direct to dvd movies that have had huge acclaim, earning several awards. His biggest film was 2006’s Crash, where the cast won for best ensemble. He also landed roles in the The Lincoln Lawyer and Clint Eastwood‘s Flags of Our Fathers. Phillippe is currently starring in and producing Shooter, the television series based on the book and former film.

anne hecheAnne Heche

Anne may not have reach the peak of stardom of her counterparts but could easily argue that she has been successful after her role as Missy Egan. Heche has not stayed within one genre, continuing to branch into different types of movies from action to comedy to drama over the years. Her most prominent movie roles were Psycho, John Q., Six Days and Seven Nights and 2013’s Wild Card alongside Jasan Statham. Heche has lent her voice to many awesome animated series, the most famous of which is The Legend of Korra. She also starred in Hung and has recently started playing a lead role in the series The Brave.

muse wilsonMuse Watson

The fishhooked villain of the film, Watson has been active for much of his career since. He landed a recurring role in CSI as Mike Franks, while guest starring in other hit shows like the Mentalist, Castle and Cold Case. He also played the longest serving prisoner, cat lover and key mentor of Michael Schofield, Charles Westmoreland in Prisonbreak. Watson continued to star in horror and thriller movies, with his most prominent roles coming in Meeting Evil and The Last Exorcism Part 2.
