Welcome to ‘What’s in the Box‘ a weekly feature where we will bring you all the latest news on movie and pop culture collectables from all the big names like Hot Toys, Matty Collector, Hasbro and even some you might not have heard of. In the coming weeks we will have small reviews and unboxings of all the latest toys, but for now here is some previews.
First up, is the Merc-With-A-Mouth Deadpool. These images come directly from Hot Toys HQ in Hong Kong. As you can see below the movie-accurate collectible of Deadpool is specifically crafted based on the image from the new Deadpool from 20th Century Fox.
This looks nuts, one would almost think those images were taken directly from the film. The suit and expressions are spot on. Even actor Ryan Reynolds who plays the wise arse agrees.
Next up. With the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice just around the corner we got some incredible images of Hot Toys movie-accurate collectible figures coming later this year.
First off is one of the stars of the film, Batman. The movie-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Ben Affleck as Batman from the film.
As you can see from the above images, the suit while it looks accurate it doesn’t particularly fit the body very well. It looks like he’s wearing a Christmas sweater and jeans. I’m not sure if this will be taken into account upon actual release of the figure, but right now it just seems off. That’s OK though because all my money is going to this boss 1:6 scale figure below.
The Armoured Suit Batman, will knock you for six. It features an armored head with LED light-up eyes and two interchangeable lower faces capturing Ben Affleck’s facial expressions, meticulously crafted armor with weathering effects and detailed Batman weapons.
This thing looks sweet, sure to be an eye catcher when you get the boys over for the next games night. The detail that has gone into this is remarkable.
The other star of the film is Mr. Nice Guy himself, Superman. This movie-accurate collectible is crafted on the image of Henry Cavill as Superman.
As you can see from the images above, Hot Toys have killed it with the likeness on this rendition of the Man Of Steel. His likeness is flawless, and the fitting of his suit is second to none. With this being released around the same time as the Batman figure, you’d have to wonder why they couldn’t nail the fitting of that suit also.
If you’d like to pre-order any of these you can do so over at Sideshow Collectables.
Well that’s it for this week, if there is something you’d love to see us cover, let us know in the comments section below. Until next week, keep checking those toy shelves.
