Every week we get bombarded with marketing from new and upcoming movies, some months and even years in advance! More than a few get lost in the shuffle, so here’s a quick round-up of what was released this week in the world of movie trailers. No mess, no fuss, just trailers. Enjoy!

Synopsis: A workaholic father who attempts to visit his daughter during a layover in LA, only to discover that she’s disappeared, is forced to team up with her awkward ex-boyfriend to find her over the course of one transformative night.

The Girl With All The Gifts

Cast: Sennia Nanua, Gemma Arterton, Glenn Close and Paddy Considine

Synopsis: The near future: humanity has been all but destroyed by a fungal disease that eradicates free will and turns its victims into flesh eating “hungries”. Only a small group of children seem immune to its effects. At an army base in rural England, this group of unique children are being studied and subjected to cruel experiments. But one little girl, Melanie, stands out from the rest. 


The Space Between Us

Cast: Asa Butterfield, Britt Robertson, Gary Oldman

Synopsis: Gardner Elliot, the first human born on Mars, begins an online friendship with Tulsa, a teen in Colorado. On his maiden voyage to Earth, the 16-year-old finally gets to experience all the joys and wonders of a world he could only read about. Problems arise when scientists discover that Gardner’s organs can’t withstand the atmosphere. United with Tulsa and on the run, the interplanetary visitor races against time to unravel the mysteries of how he came to be, and where he belongs in the universe.


Baywatch – International Trailer

Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario

Synopsis: Two unlikely prospective lifeguards vie for jobs alongside the buff bodies who patrol a beach in California.


Cars 3

Cast: Owen Wilson, Armie Hammer

Synopsis: Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game he will need the help of eager young female race technician Cruz Ramirez. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet, he will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage against his new rival, Jackson Storm.

My Life As A Zucchini 

Cast: Will Forte, Nick Offerman, Ellen Page, Amy Sedaris

Synopsis: After his mother’s sudden death, Zucchini is befriended by a police officer, Raymond, who accompanies him to his new foster home, filled with other orphans his age. At first he struggles to find his place in this at times strange and hostile environment. But with Raymond’s help and his newfound friends, Zucchini eventually learns to trust and love, as he searches for a new family of his own.


Gold – Red Band Trailer

Cast: Matthew McConaughey, Edgar Ramirez

Synopsis: Kenny Wells (Matthew McConaughey), an unlucky businessman, teams up with geologist Michael Acosta (Édgar Ramírez) to find gold deep in the uncharted jungles of Indonesia (Borneo).

Dark Night

Synopsis: A haunting, artfully understated critique of American gun culture, Tim Sutton’s third feature is loosely based around the 2012 massacre in Aurora, Colorado that took place during a multiplex screening of The Dark Knight Rises. Employing a mesmerizing documentary-style technique and a cast of non-professional actors, DARK NIGHT follows the activities of six strangers over the course of one day, from sunrise to midnight, the shooter among them.

Sleepless

Cast: Jamie Foxx, Michelle Monaghan, Dermot Mulroney

Synopsis: A cop with a connection to the criminal underworld scours a nightclub in search of his kidnapped son.


XX

Synopsis: XX is a new all-female helmed horror anthology featuring four dark tales written and directed by fiercely talented women: Annie Clark (ST. VINCENT) rocks her directorial debut with THE BIRTHDAY PARTY; Karyn Kusama (THE INVITATION, GIRLFIGHT) exorcises HER ONLY LIVING SON; Roxanne Benjamin (SOUTHBOUND) screams DON’T FALL, and Jovanka Vuckovic (THE CAPTURED BIRD) dares to open THE BOX. Award-winning animator Sofia Carrillo (LA CASA TRISTE) wraps together four suspenseful stories of terror.


Clinical

Cast: Vinessa Shaw, William Atherton, Aaron Stanford, Sydney Tamiia Poitier

Synopsis: A psychiatrist tries to put her life back together after a violent attack by seeking to repair the life of a new patient, but he has his own terrifying history.


Untitled

Synopsis: A mysterious new project from studio A24 (The Witch, Moonlight, Ex Machina). Nothing is known about this movie, except for what’s in the trailer.


CHiPS

Cast: Dax Sheppard, Michael Pena, Kristen Bell

Synopsis: Two middle-aged Los Angeles motorcycle cops who are tasked with highway patrol soon find themselves in a situation like none other when a sadistic ex-cop & his motor vehicle theft hitmen are wreaking havoc throughout their city.


Kong: Skull Island – International Trailer

Cast: Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Samuel L Jackson

Synopsis: Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Kong: Skull Island” reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (“The Kings of Summer”). In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific – as beautiful as it is treacherous – unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.
