War Is Hell In the Intense New Trailer For ‘Dunkirk’

Following a set of shorter teasers that didn’t give away a hell of a lot, Warner Bros. have finally unleashed a proper full length trailer showcasing the theatre of war that is Christopher Nolan’s new war epic, Dunkirk.

Check it out above! There’s some truly frightening visuals scattered throughout this trailer, but Nolan’s film doesn’t appear to be revelling in the gore in any way, in fact the director himself has stated he doesn’t see this as a war movie, and recently had the following to say to Esquire.

“It’s a survival story and first and foremost a suspense film. So while there is a high level of intensity to it, it does not necessarily concern itself with the bloody aspects of combat”

Well he’s got that intense part right, because these look to be some of the most harrowing (not to mention realistic) battle scenes we’ve seen on our screens since that now iconic Omaha Beach sequence from Saving Private Ryan.Being a Nolan completist, I’ll be seeing the film in all its IMAX glory when Dunkirk hits Aussie cinemas on July 20. I thoroughly recommend you do the same.
