Amy Pascal Backtracks On Previous Venom Comments

Amy Pascal needs to take a note out of Spider-Mans book.

With great power comes great responsibility”

If you’re going to be a producer on one of the most anticipated films of all time, then you best be on the same page with the people who are actually running the show.

A few weeks ago Amy Pascal came out and said that Venom will indeed take place in Tom Hollands Spider-Man universe. Well, she has now backtracked on those comments that were apparently “taken out of context” and has offered up some clarification.

Here’s what we’re doing: all these characters are a part of the Marvel comic book universe. In that universe, they are all related to each other. Kevin Feige makes characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These characters are separate, except for Spidey, who belongs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is why he’s there.

Although that quote from Pascal seems to indicate that we will not get a Sony Cinematic Universe crossover, Kevin Feige also added.

We never say never. You could ask me, is Superman gonna be there? I go, never say never, but not anytime soon.

Are you confused yet? well, so are we. It seems as though both Feige and Pascal will neither confirm or deny that Venom will at some point be part of the MCU. That being said, I don’t think anyone would have thought that Marvel would ever broker a deal with Sony to have Spider-Man in the MCU. So here’s hoping that the stars align and we get Tom Hardy into the MCU. Head on over to Comicbook.com for the full story.
