This week’s Top 5 is going out to Ben, one of the editors on the site and the usual writer of this weekly article. He has taken leave to not only have 1 kid, but 2! To honour this achievement, we are taking a look at the Top 5 Births Gone Horribly Wrong. These aren’t your usual birth scenes like you see in films like Nine 1/2 weeks or What to Expect When You’re Expecting. These are births that either take you by surprise, or are just down right messed up.

Men In Black – The Baby Squid
When it’s your first day on the job as a highly secretive special agent, you don’t expect to be helping give birth to a giant squid-like baby. I love that Tommy Lee Jones‘s Agent K doesn’t even try and help Agent J, just let the rookie take this one!

Junior – Arnold Baby
Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t exactly known for his looks, nor his baby making skills (unless you’re talking about one he made with his housemaid, and no one is bringing up that) but use some movie magic and give Arnie a uterus and you have the movie Junior. It’s not a terrible movie, and it might even be the only one with a male giving birth, but seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger’s face on a newborn will give nightmares to the best of us.

Dawn of the Dead – Zombie Baby
Can’t think of anything worse than to carry a child for 9 months only for it turn to a zombie. Well, maybe that CGI to create the baby. That’s pretty terrible.

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls – Rhino Birth
This is scene not perfectly sums up Ace Ventura but also Jim Carrey – out of control and thinking outside of the box. Would had love to see how many times it took him to get out of such a small gap.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 – Freddy’s Rebirth
There are some cheesy moments in the Elm Street franchise but this has to be one of the best. What makes it even better is that with the rate the Freddy foetus grows, so do the horrible special effects. Also, do the burn marks now run in his DNA? Can we get some clarification? Because that’s messed up.

Having pains in your stomach might sound like a horrible time, but imagine those pains lead to giving birth to a 2 foot monster through the small opening in your backside. Ouch!

Alien – The Chest Burster
Talk about a way to crack open the second act! Did you know this was the first time that the actors had even seen the creature? They weren’t expecting so much blood in fact most there acting is real fear and disgust. Actress Veronica Cartwright immediately passed out on set when the blood hit her.
