Tom Cruise looks set to jump back in the cockpit for Top Gun 2 sooner rather than later. He’s just had a meeting with acclaimed producer Jerry Bruckheimer about getting Maverick back on the big screen!

Top Gun was one of the biggest action flicks from the 80’s, it’s surprising with how much fandom this film has that we still haven’t got a sequel to it. I don’t go a day with out seeing a fellow film nerd rocking a Top Gun inspired tee or hat.
With original Director Tony Scott’s death in 2012 it’s up in the air as to who will direct. I’m voting for Michael Bay. While his Transformers franchise might be getting worse and worse as the story continues he knows action. He is one of the best in the business, in fact a lot of his style seems to be inspired by Tony Scott. So I would take Bay over a studio hired grunt to take the reigns. We definitely don’t want another Terminator Genisys to happen.
I don’t care what people say, I still dig Tom Cruise. He might be a little crazy but his acting and films are usually some of the best of the year and easily my most anticipated. So, it’s easy to say that I’m extremely excited and have the need, the need for speed.
