Do you love texting your friends? Do you love adding those little cartoon cha cha ladies in every text? Well Sony Pictures hopes you love it so much that you would watch a 2 hour animated movie about it.
I had thought Hollywood had run out of ideas when I heard they were making movies out of boardgames like Monopoly and Battleship but never would I had though a movie about Emojis would happen. Deadline reports that Paramount and Warner Bros. made bids for the project but lost to Sony.
Written by Eric Siegel (the new TBS series Men at Work) and Directed by Anthony Leondis (Igor) Emoji: The Movie will be released in 2017
I honestly had to check the date today and confirm it wasn’t April 1st. Wake me up when this joke is over.
