The Trailer For Martin Scorsese’s ‘Silence’ Is Well Worth The Wait

It’s been an agonizing wait for a trailer to Martin Scorsese’s highly anticipated next film, but not nearly as long as the twenty six year journey it took the veteran filmmaker to bring this passion project to the big screen. But today we’ve been given our first taste of what to expect from Silence, and it looks pretty darn epic indeed.

Check it out above!silence-movie-2016-liam-neeson-scorseseThis is a bit of a change of pace for Scorsese, who hasn’t really handled this sort of heavy religious subject matter since The Last Temptation of Christ, but its refreshing to see the now seventy four year old still taking risks and telling interesting stories, especially ones of this scope.

Some of the images on display here are truly jaw dropping, and you just know the cast and crew have bled to capture every frame of this film, much like we saw with The Revenant last year. Andrew Garfield clearly enjoys to suffer for his art after already turning in a searing lead performance in this years Hacksaw Ridge, and Adam Driver continues to show why he’s one of the best actors working in Hollywood today.

Check out the synopsis for the film below…

In the seventeenth century, two Jesuit priests face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and propagate Christianity.

SILENCE is released in Australian cinemas on February 16, 2017
