Welcome back to another edition of “The Cutting Room Floor.” A post for all the little bits and pieces that didn’t make the cut to have their own post.

This week

  • Jurassic Park in heels
  • 7 Things you probably didn’t know about Mission Impossible
  • A Giant Millennium Falcon
  • Ferrell Takes The Field
  • X-Men: Apocalypse
  • Top 100 American movies of all time (according to Britain)
  • Breaking Bad house for sale
  • Tribute to Hayao Miyazaki
  • First official X-Files teaser

Lets get started with a laugh. Here, someone has re-edited the original Jurassic Park to feature more high heels. Apart from Jeff Goldblum being even more amazing than he already is, there isn’t much more to say other than “ENJOY!”

Up next, we have a little feature to coincide with the release of the new Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation this weekend. The video contains some trivia about all the previous entries in the series. I generally pride myself on knowing useless information on movies and this put me in my place, and also made me excited to see the new one ASAP.

To go along with this video, Tom Cruise appeared on Jimmy Fallon earlier this week for a lip sync battle. A lot of people don’t love Tom but still enjoy his movies, and this video shows that he’s not all bad in real life. He will even sing-a-long to a song from Top Gun and serenade a young lady in the crowd (who now has a pretty cool story to tell).

News for Star Wars fans. This week at convention in Hong Kong, the toy company Hot Toys unveiled an 18-foot long Millennium Falcon. Word on the street is that it will never actually be for sale to the general public, and judging by the size that’s a very likely outcome, but it’s nice to dream.
More info on the ship here.

You may remember earlier this year, videos of Will Ferrell flying around the USA taking part in multiple baseball games on the same day were floating around. Well now we have the Official Trailer for that documentary, Ferrell Takes The Field. although it definitely seems like something aimed at fans of baseball, it does look like it will be a lot of fun to watch, even those that have no idea or no interest in the sport itself.

X-Men: Apocalypse has had a nice set of images release online. Featuring some Official Photos for the movie, new shots of the cast and some behind the scenes. The whole set has been compiled over at Coming Soon.

It’s been popping up for the last few days, but if you haven’t heard by now, your chances of owning Jesse Pinkman’s house and living the meth lab dream could be closer than you think. For a humble $1.600,000 (yep, million) you can pretend you are actually in Breaking Bad. The listing went up several days ago, and as far as I can tell, is still for sale, so move quick! Before some other wannabe drug dealer snatches it out from under you.

More info on the listing right here.

After purchasing a boxset featuring all the films of Hayao Miyazaki recently, I stumbled upon this great 3D tribute video.  Vimeo user dono created a three-dimensional, moving-camera tribute to Miyazaki by loading footage of the 2-D, hand-drawn films and put them into 3-D renderings of all the backgrounds from the film (still with me?) The finished product is a great look back at this amazing directors body of work.

Lastly, I will finish off this week again with another bit of TV news, something I can barely contain my excitement for – our first official look at the new X-Files. Mulder and Scully will be back, and hopefully it will be better than their last appearance, which did more harm than good. Duchovny is back as a monotonous alien enthusiast and Anderson…well I’m sure she’ll have her doubts. Here it is!

That’s it for this edition of Cutting Room Floor. Thanks for reading, and don’t forget to send us stuff that you think we should include next time!
