After days of character trailers, posters and gentle reminders that the DC films are still alive and kicking, Warner Bros has dropped the first trailer for their big team-up film – Justice LeagueCheck out the trailer by clicking the play button above! The first thing that jumps out at me is the humour – which is a great step in the right direction. Adding a lightness to this affair is something this flick desperately needs, so I’m glad to see it on display. The action looks very much in vein with Man of Steel/Batman v Superman, so it’s good to see Zack Snyder is at least consistent.

Batman (Ben Affleck) looks to be the backbone of the team, who works with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) to unite the league including The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) & Aquaman (Jason Momoa). The trailer gives us our first real look at Aquaman and Cyborg in action. Aquaman was a real surprise, and his back and forth with Batman looks fun. Cyborg, on the other hand, is a very VFX heavy character and I’m not quite sold on his look.

It would be very easy to dismiss this based on the previous films, but I think there’s enough on display here to get excited for this. Here’s the official synopsis:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

JUSTICE LEAGUE hits Australian cinemas on November 16, 2017.
