With Supanova just about to touch down in Sydney again, news has started hitting the webs about the massive lineup of “Supa Stars” they have on board. The 2016 event is looking to be one of the biggest yet and we’ve just got word that even more have been added.
They’re the stars from television’s hottest and “cult” dramas, and together they round off an epic lineup of celebrity guests attending Supanova’s Pop Culture Expos next month in Sydney (June 17-19) and Perth (June 25-26).
Eugene Simon, who played the recurring role of Lancel Lannister in the first, second, fifth and current series of Game of Thrones heads up the latest in Supanova’s guest announcements.
For Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel fans there’s the wonderful Juliet Landau – best known as Drusilla in the series – stepping in for her co-star Julie Benz, who has had to postpone her appearance until June 2017 due to new work commitments.
There’s nostalgia, too, with guests Jade Gatt and Ryan Lappin. If you grew up watching breakfast television during the mid 90s through to early 00s you’d be familiar with Cheez TV. A recent resurgence in popularity has brought them back into the limelight, now hosting The Jade & Ryan Show podcast.
Sydney will also have the pleasure of hosting The Walking Dead’s Benedict Samuel, The X-Files’ Dean Haglund, and local legend, John Jarratt, as city-exclusives. Benedict, who played the baddie ‘Alpha-Wolf’ in seasons five and six, may also be recognized as Hammer from Home & Away; Haglund is best known for his role as Richard ‘Ringo’ Langly, one of The Lone Gunmen; and of course there’s the legendary Jarratt who has just reprised his role as the notorious Mick Taylor in The Stan Original Series Wolf Creek.
Supanova is where fandom comes to life, celebrating the worlds of film and television, fantasy, comic books, anime, sci-fi, cartoons, books, gaming and collectables. There’s ‘cosplay’ (costume-role play), fan clubs, musical performances, creative master classes, wrestling, tournaments and competitions, and an expo full of shopping possibilities meaning there something for everyone to make sure every fan has had a blast!
Fans will have the opportunity to meet, and get to know, the actors from their favourite television shows through Q&A panels, and autograph and photograph sessions happening throughout the weekend-long events. They join an epic guest list of Supa-Stars already announced to appear in June:
