So Good News: Paddington 2, Annihilation, Avatar

The world of movie news moves at lightspeed some days, so it’s hard to keep up with everything (even for those of us that run an entertainment blog). So welcome to your daily news briefing here at So, Is It Any Good? where we round up the breaking stories you might have missed.

The director’s follow-up to breakthrough Ex-Machina might be something truly special. Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Oscar Isaac lead an incredible cast and are set to hit theatres sometime in 2018.

USA Today has the first images of Idris Elba and Kate Winslet in their disaster pic The Mountain Between Us slated for release October 19. Here’s a sneak peek:

And finally, Deadline is reporting that director Adam Wingard will helm the super monster match-up  Godzilla vs. Kong for Warner Bros.

Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) recently chatted about her experience auditioning for the role of X-23 in James Mangold’s Logan. I’m sure she would’ve been great, but it’s hard to see anyone but Dafne Keen in that role now.
