Sony Pictures have just unleashed the first official trailer for The Shallows, starring Blake Lively and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. Director of the recent action flicks Run All Night and Unknown, he also directed one of my personal favourite horror films Orphan.
Here is the official synopsis
In this taut thriller, Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, when she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy’s ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude. It’s Jaws for a new generation.
Just when you thought it was safe to head back into the water…. Screw that, I’m happy just sitting here where I’m safe behind my keyboard. Jaume Collet-Serra knows his stuff when it comes to suspense. He has proven this time and time again but this time we don’t have Liam Neeson to save us. The Shallows looks very distressing, if you see it, I’ll be the one that is screaming like baby. There is nothing scarier than something I can’t see.
