Samuel L. Jackson Isn’t In Avengers: Infinity War… Or Avengers 4

Although he was there when it all began, there’s at least one major MCU player who probably won’t be showing up in the next chapters of the Avengers saga, and he’s not entirely pleased about it. When the casting announcements starting coming thick and fast for Avengers: Infinity War and its untitled Avengers 4 sequel, it quickly became clear that pretty much all your favourite characters in the MCU would be stopping by to say hello… except one.

It sounds like Samuel L. Jackson will remain MIA for these two Avengers movies, after sitting on the Marvel bench since Avengers: Age Of Ultron and when the actor sat down with Yahoo!, sounded pretty pissed about it:

“I wasn’t in the ‘superhero argument’ movie [Captain America: Civil War], I’m not in Avengers 3 and 4. They’re shooting them now, and they haven’t called me yet. They wouldn’t let me go to Black Panther-ville, so it’s kinda like how you gonna make a black Marvel movie and not let Nick Fury show up in it?!”

Admittedly, this interview happened before Jackson was announced as co-starring with Brie Larson in Captain Marvel, so maybe tempers have cooled some, but if I were him I’d a bit pissed too. Jackson has been the one consistent presence in the MCU thus far and remains committed to staying with the brand as long as Marvel wants.Samuel-L-Jackson-as-Nick-FuryThe last time we saw Fury in Ultron, the character was still in exile following the Hydra bomb of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and while the 90’s-set Captain Marvel will show us what Nick Fury was like before forming the Avengers, it’s up in the air at this point if or when we’ll see him in the future MCU.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (without Jackson) will be released April 26, 2018.
