Rogue One sizzle reel and poster drop at Star Wars Celebration

‘Star Wars Celebration Europe’ is now in full swing in London and overnight, fans were treated to a panel featuring the entire cast and crew of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Director Gareth Edwards and producer Kathleen Kennedy took to the stage to discuss this new film and were joined by the entire cast, including Felicity JonesMads MikkelsenAlan Tudyk, and Forest Whittaker. Ben Mendelsohn even took to the stage in full costume as the film’s villain, Director Krennic.

During the panel, fans were treated to a new ‘sizzle reel’, which features a ton of new behind the scenes footage and some amazing practical effects (yay!). Check out the footage below.

There’s alot to like in this footage. Whilst we don’t get any real story details, there’s some amazing shots and locations on display. I really love the below shot. That view screen could have easily been green screened, but doing this on set gives a great reflection on all those shiny Stormtrooper suits and Imperial polished floors.

Also how great does this look – the flight gimble in front of a animatic screen – almost like a theme park ride! This would have been a ton of fun to shoot on!

Along with the trailer, a new poster was also revealed. I’m loving the beachfront locations on display both in the poster and the sizzle reel. Definitely a new environment for Star Wars.Rogue-One-A-Star-Wars-Story-poster

Those at the panel were also treated to a shorter, story based trailer as well, featuring the return a familiar Star Wars character. The footage has yet to be released online, but will be posted when available.

Those on the convention floor were also treated to an exhibition of costumes and models from the film. Below are a few pictures from Gizmodo, including the new TIE Striker, and Director Krennic’s shuttle. Be sure to check out their full article to see even more!
