Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk hasn’t even finished shooting yet, but Warner Bros. is already giving us a taste of what to expect from the much anticipated World War II epic.

Dunkirk marks somewhat of a departure for the much vaunted Nolan, as its his first foray into the world of non-fiction. We’d already been hearing stories for some months now about the lengths the crew were going to in order to keep the project as authentic as possible, but this new trailer provides visual proof that Nolan is pushing his notorious old school style to a whole new level. 
That last jaw dropping shot of the troops standing helplessly like cattle for the slaughter is already one of the most iconic shots of the year, and we can only hope the rest of the film matches this potent mixture of horror and spectacle.
Dunkirk will be released in Australian cinemas July, 2017
