The world of movie news moves at light speed some days, so it’s hard to keep up with everything (even for those of us that run an entertainment website). So welcome to today’s news briefing here at So, Is It Any Good? where we round up the breaking stories you might have missed.

In The Land Of Disney

During the week it was announced who was play Genie, Jasmine, and Aladdin, but now it’s time for the announcement of Jafar… unfortunately, we’re still waiting for that. Other cast members missing from the movie so far are Jafar’s sidekick, Lago and Jasmine’s father. Though there are many speculations for who should play Jafar, reports are saying they want a well-known and BIG star for the villain.

Disney’s next live action remake will be Dumbo, directed by Tim Burton. The cast announced for that includes Eva Green as Colette, Colin Farrell as Holt, Michael Keaton as Vandemere, Danny Devitto as the circus master Medici and Nico Park and Finley Hobbins playing Holt’s children. It’s set for a release date of March 29, 2019.

James Franco has released a trailer for his upcoming movie The Disaster Artist. It chronicles the making of the 2003 film The Room, which has been dubbed as the worst movie ever, and yet surprisingly has become a cult classic. The Disaster Artist is due out this December.

Another Cameo!?

After his cameo in Game of ThronesEd Sheeran is set to cameo in another franchise but this time as an animated character in The Simpsons. He’ll be playing a character called Brendon in a musical episode that will feature in the 29th season of the show, set to premiere in October.

Magic Mike Meets Scarface

Ben Stiller is currently working on a movie called I Am Chippendales and it’s already being likened to a cross between Magic Mike and Scarface. It chronicles the rise to power of the Chippendales dance troupe, the bastardization of the American dream, and cold-blooded murder. Starring Dev Patel as the mastermind behind the group Steve Banerjee and Stiller as fellow founder Nick DeNoia.

The Shape Of Water

Guillermo Del Toro has released a trailer for his upcoming film The Shape Of Water. Set in the 1960’s with Sally Hawkins playing Elisa a mute who forms a special bond with a classified experiment (played by Del Toro prosthetic expert, Doug Jones).
