In a terribly kept secret Netflix, the incredibly popular video streaming service, has finally announced their expansion to Australia and New Zealand beginning in March 2015.

Netflix offers an amazing variety of content, from Movies, TV Shows and in recent years have offered fantastic original content specifically developed for the platform (including’ House of Cards’, ‘Bojack Horseman’ and four shows being developed by Marvel including ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Luke Cage’).

We’ll have to wait and see the level of content that is available here – Foxtel currently has plenty of exclusive rights to content here in Australia, which may make it hard for Netflix to be as vast as its US Service.

Netflix has been available to many Australians for the last few years via a very ‘grey area’ method of using VPN’s to get around the geoblocking features of the service. Will be nice to be able to access the service via non-dodgy methods.

Full press release from Netflix can be found here.

Probably a crappy day in the Quickflix office today…
