Neflix Glow

Netflix And Chill: What To Watch This Weekend, June 30th-2nd July

Rather than scrolling aimlessly for what feels like hours, adding titles to your list and ultimately not watching any of them due to an expletive – ridden rage quit, we’ve compiled a list to help you Netflix and chill.

GLOW

What do you get when you add a room full of woman, a potty mouthed B-grade movie director, a wrestling ring and an awesome 80’s soundtrack? One of the best shows on Netflix, that’s what. GLOW stars Alison Brie (Community), an out of work, down on her luck actress trying to make it big in LA. This hilarious take on wrestling will leave you in stitches (pun intended) the whole season. This is without a doubt your next Netflix binge series. You can read our full review here.

OKJA

Farm girl Mija (Sea-Hyun Ahn) befriends a genetically modified super-pig who is suddenly taken from her to be used as a new source of meat for humanity. Bong Joon Ho (Snowpiercer) has made one of the most majestic looking films on Netflix, and mixed it with a rather political look at the meat trade industry. What starts out as an endearing heart felt family-esqe film, takes a sharp turn into some horrifying mouth agape scenes. We watched it, we reviewed it, you can read it here.

Orange Is The New Black

Season 5 of Orange Is The New Black picks up right where season 4 ended. If you have’t already binge watched the latest season then now is your chance. The prison is in lockdown, the inmates are rioting and sides will be taken. The season starts off a little slow as it focuses on the inmates reeling from the death of Poussey Washington in season 4. However, all that is worth the wait once you get towards the end of the season. To see what we thought of the first half of the season head on over to our review here.

Nobody Speak

This gem of a documentary is an extreme look at the media industry in America. It starts off focusing on the legal ramifications of the leaked Hulk Hogan sex tape by website Gawker. As the documentary goes on, you get an amazing in depth look at what the media is currently going through under the Donald Trump Presidency.  No journalist is safe from being sued these days, as internet censorship and free speech are front and center. While the rich and powerful influence what we see and hear in the news.

Master Of None

Aziz Ansari stars as Dev, as aspiring actor living in the hustle and bustle of New York City. Throughout the series we follow Dev as he goes through the highs and lows of personal and professional experiences which help build himself as a person. With a great supporting cast and cool vibe in each episode. This hilarious easy going series is a must watch Netflix weekender.
