THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN – MOVIE TRAILER

We live in a world full of remakes, get used to it.  There’s plenty more to come with “re-imaginings” of Jumanji, Ben-Hur and Predator on their way (to name just a few, seriously, there’s loads more to come).  Some are bad, like Gus Van Sant’s ‘Psycho’ and others are great, like… er…

Having run out of movies to remake, the studios are now onto remakes of remakes, as the original ‘The Magnificent Seven’ was a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s of Seven Samurai.  With both films considered classics and the 1960’s version having an amazing ensemble cast (pictured below) – They’ve got some big cowboy boots to fill.the-magnificent-sevenHaving said that the cast does look incredible and with Training Day’s Antonie Fuqua holding the reigns I think this should be a lot of fun.  Here’s the official synopsis:

“Director Antoine Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ and Columbia Pictures’ The Magnificent Seven. With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.”
