Legendary Pictures and Universal unleash a new type of terror that will make you never want to see the relatives at Christmas again. Krampas hails from Director/Writer Michael Dougherty, while he might not be a household name just yet, you might be aware of his previous take on another holiday, the Halloween horror “Trick R Treat”.

Where is Kevin McAllister when you need him?  While not your traditional holiday romp, Krampas looks to take the Christmas Family movie and crush it’s brains in with a candy cane. There is a lot to love here. Michael Dougherty looks to have been inspired by films like Home Alone and Gremlins yet still enlisted his own flavour to the genre. Consider me highly intrigue.

Here is the official synopsis

When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers.  All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive.
The horror-comedy also stars Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner, Allison Tolman, Conchata Ferrell, Stefania Lavie Owen and Krista Stadler.

KRAMPUS opens just before Christmas on December 10 in Australia
