Paramount Pictures have just dropped the first trailer to the highly anticapated Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson and directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman).
Hit the play button above to check it out! Here’s the official synopsis:
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
Rupert Sanders has done well to create the sheer scale of Ghost in the Shell, it stays very true to the anime but adds a lot more with the visual design to update it enough for returning audiences. The trailer is backed by a great electronic cover of the Depeche Mode‘s ‘Enjoy the Silence’ performed by Ki:Theory. The cover is a perfect match to the visuals and will probably stay in your head for the rest of the day.
This looks like a hell of a lot of fun, I have always enjoyed the animated films but seeing the world brought to life is just unreal. Ghost in the Shell has moved to one of the top positions for most anticipated film of 2017. Bloody pumped!GHOST IN THE SHELL hits Australian cinemas MARCH 30, 2017 and US Cinemas MARCH 31, 2017
