Everything You Need To Know About ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’

Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters tomorrow, so we’ve got a handy little guide here to get you started.

What’s It About?

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is the sequel to 2014 Kingsman: The Secret Service. It is based on a comic book written by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. The Kingsman join forces with the Statesman , their American counterparts, after an attack is made on their headquarters by a crime syndicate called The Golden Circle.

Who’s In It?

Returning from the first film is Taron Egerton as Eggsy Unwin, the new “Galahad” and main protagonist, along with Mark Strong who plays Merlin, the Kingsman “tech support”. Sophie Cookson returns as Roxy/Lancelot, and Edward Holcroft as villain Charlie, a former Kingsman recruit. Most surprisingly we see the return of Colin Firth as Harry Hart, who was “killed” in the first film. kingsman-the-golden-circle-trailer-2-taron-egerton-colin-firth-spicypulp

Joining the cast this time round is Julianne Moore as Poppy Adams, the head of the Golden Circle, Jeff Bridges as “Champ” Champagne, head of the Statesman. Channing Tatum and Pedro Pascal as Statesman agents Tequila and Whiskey. Halle Berry rounds the cast out as Ginger Ale, the Statesman counterpart of Merlin.

Who’s Directing?

Matthew Vaughn returns from the first film to continue the franchise. In the past Vaughn has directed Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class and Layer Cake . Vaughn has an incredibly stylised vision when it comes to the Kingsman films. They have a very bright, glossy feel to them, a sort of nod to the surrealism that occurs in a lot of comic book stories. The first Kingsman film was filled with fun, over-the-top action, colourful characters and a killer soundtrack. Hopefully, Vaughn can bring back the charm of the original with this new film.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is out in cinemas tomorrow – go out and get your tickets. And remember to be polite; manners maketh man.
