Disney and Pixar have started prepping for the release of the next Cars sequel, Cars 3, with the release of some interesting concept pieces.
While the cars franchise hasn’t been accepted by the older generation as well as the Toy Storyfranchise or Incredibles, Cars is massive with kids. The marketing is genius behind this franchise, they have put a face to Hot Wheels. Here’s the official synopsis:
When challenged by a new generation of racers, legendary racer Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) turns to an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, to help him compete. Directed by Brian Fee (storyboard artist “Cars,” “Cars 2”) and produced by Kevin Reher (“A Bug’s Life,” “La Luna” short).
This is very much a Rocky Balboa story, and certainly one that takes the franchise back to it’s roots. I’ll be happy to see a lot less of Mater and lot more racing.
