‘Deadpool 2’ Finally Has A Summer 2018 Release Date

It’s official, 20th Century Fox has set a summer release date of June 1st, 2018 for Deadpool 2. The release date puts Deadpool 2 smack bang in the middle of the summer blockbuster season. It opens one week after the Disney and Lucasfilm Han Solo movie, and one week before Warner Bros. Ocean’s 8 and Paramounts Transformers Spin-Off.

2016’s Deadpool was released in February, which from a studio point of view, is an odd time to open a movie. That gamble paid off big time though, as the merc with the mouth had a solid opening weekend and went on to make over 700 million at the box office from a budget of a measly 58 million.

It’s a ballsy movie from Fox setting a summer release date, which shows that they aren’t concerned about the other films opening on either side of Deadpool 2 and have complete faith that the movie will hold it’s own amongst the heavy hitting rival studios other productions.

Deadpool 2 currently stars, Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Zazie Beets (Domino) and recently announced Josh Brolin as Cable.

What say you true believers? do you think Deadpool should open earlier to give it more of a box office draw? or do you think its a smart play by fox to see how well Deadpool does amongst other highly anticipated films? sound off in the comments and let us know your thoughts.
