David Fincher Set To Direct Brad Pitt In ‘World War Z’ Sequel

Variety is reporting that David Fincher is close to signing on to direct Brad Pitt in the sequel to 2013’s World War Z. Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions previously pulled the zombie apocalypse sequel off its original release date back in February and did not provide a new release date.

However, thanks to new chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos, the project has gained some momentum in the last month. Although the project has yet to be officially greenlit, inside sources for Variety have stated that the production will be greenlit in the coming weeks.

Fincher, Pitt and Gianopulos have a previous history together, as Gianopulos was chairman for 20th Century Fox and gave the go ahead for 2014’s Gone Girl, and 1999’s masterpiece Fight Club.

If Fincher signs on to direct it will be the fourth collaboration between Pitt and Fincher, having previously worked on Se7en, Fight Club, and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.

What say you fellow So, Is It Any Gooders? are you happy to see Fincher and Pitt tackle the zombie genre?
