Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
Man I hate living doll films, for some strange reason my mother has an affection for collecting and keeping old creepy arse dolls all over her house, so when I was growing up I’d always watch them, making sure none of them moved.
This looks to be more of a prequel to the original film rather than a direct sequel, which in itself is a spin-off of The Conjuring.
For me, Annabelle fell a bit flat, it just didn’t have the suspense nor the fear tactics that The Conjuring had. However for the sequel, New Line has brought in Swedish filmmaker David F. Sandberg to direct and while his name may not sound familiar, he has just come in hot from the success of his last film Lights Out, which was one of the better horror films from this year. So with all that and with what I just saw in that trailer, you can consider me interested!
