Are you ready for another chapter in The Conjuring Franchise? I know i’m not. Variety is reporting that The Conjuring 3 is in the works, with David Leslie Johnson attached to write the script. James Wan will produce the film, as he has done for the previous films. However, with Wan’s career blowing up as of late, along with his commitments to DC‘s Aquaman, it’s not clear whether he will return to directing duties.
Franchise regulars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will return as Lorraine and Ed Warren, who would love nothing more than for Wan to direct the film. This would be Wan’s third undertaking as the director for beloved horror franchise, should his schedule clear up for his return. The Conjuring has amassed a loyal following since it’s release. It has been both a critical and commercial hit, as well as serving as a launching pad for spin-offs Annabelle, The Nun and the upcoming Crooked Man.
