CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR – FINAL TRAILER

Marvel has just dropped the final trailer for Captain America: Civil War. You can probably guess what it’s about based on the previous trailers and the fact that it’s called Civil War, but here’s the official synopsis anyway:

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Okay, can we just talk about the elephant in the room for a second? Hello SPIDER-MAN! This is the first time we have seen Tom Holland‘s version of the web slinger in any promotional material for the movie and even though it was only a quick look, we can see that Marvel isn’t reinventing him to separate the character from those played by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. Either way, his very simple “Hey everyone” was on point for Spidey and hopefully a sign of things to come.

SPIDEY

Of course, he’s joined by the rest of the cast and we get to see more of the back story as to why there is a civil war amongst the Avengers. We saw the start of it in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, with Tony Stark and Steve Rogers having the same goal in mind but hugely different ways of going about it – the Team Cap vs team Iron Man theme runs throughout the whole trailer, with sparring matches between The Winter Soldier and practically everyone on Team Iron Man (side note: how effing sweet does Black Panther look?) as well as Scarlet Witch Vs The Vision, Hawkeye and Ant Man Vs Iron Man and of course, Iron Man Vs Captain America.

After seeing this, I’m definitely staying on Team Cap but let us know which team you’re on in the comments below!

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR hits Australian cinemas April 29th.
