Behind The Scenes – Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok hits Australian theatres this Thursday, and word on the street is that Marvel have another home run on their hands. With the release almost upon us, Marvel have dropped a ton of behind the scenes interviews and clips with the cast and crew. So grab your Mjolnir and your blonde wig and get prepared for what could be 2017’s best Thor/Hulk team up film with this array of videos!

First up, a short video featuring Behind the Scenes content from the making of Thor: Ragnarok. This clip is also super helpful for those who can’t remember where we last saw Thor and Hulk (Spoilers: Avengers: Age of Ultron).

Director Taika Waititi certainly looks like he brings alot of fun and playfulness to set, setting the tone for a very different Thor film from the previous two. Of course the film stars massive names like Chris HemsworthMark Ruffalo and Cate Blanchett, but it’s Jeff Goldblum who I’m most excited to see bring his wackiness to the screen in the role of The Grandmaster. Speaking of wackiness, how about 22 mins of Taiki Waititi and Jeff Goldblum goofying around. Enjoy!

Last but not least we have a video for those production design nerds out there. Earlier this year, the Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) was home to the Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe exhibit, featuring props, costumes and behind the scenes goodies from all the Marvel films. With Thor: Ragnarok being filmed in our own backyard on the Gold Coast, QAGOMA interviewed members of the production design team on the film on their influences and experiences whilst working on Thor: Ragnarok.  Great to see so much local talent being put to good use!

So are you ready for Thor: Ragnarok? It’s amazing to look at how far Marvel has come as a studio in ten years! Make sure you leave us a message on Facebook with your thoughts on Thor:Ragnarok when it opens in Australian theatres this Thursday, 26th October.
