ART OF MOVIES – STAR WARS MEETS STUDIO GHIBLI?

Well it’s May The Fourth, so I’d be pretty rubbish if I didn’t post a batch of Star Wars art and this is some of the best I’ve seen.  Fellow Brit Lap Pun Cheung has recreated scenes from Star Wars as though they were made by Japanese animation film studio – Studio Ghibli.  I love everything that comes out of Studio Ghibli, even when I have no idea what’s going on in those movies, I can still enjoy the beautiful artwork and Hayao Miyazaki’s direction.  What are your thoughts?  Is it sacrilege to mess with Lucas’ work or are you like me and would love to see all his movies made in the same style.  Indiana Jones and The Forest Sprites?

You can see more of Lap Pun Cheung’s work in the link below.  He has a great gallery of original illustrations that are really worth checking out – Herelap-pun-cheung-star-wars-darth-ghibli-s-entrance-calap-pun-cheung-duel-of-the-fates-onlinelap-pun-cheung-brothers-divided-onlinelap-pun-cheung-bounty-hunter-onlinelap-pun-cheung-a-hero-s-tale-text-onlinelap-pun-cheung-across-the-stars-online
