Why you should care: The hardest working man in Hollywood meets the shortest working man in Hollywood, and so hilarity should ensue, correct? I’m not the biggest Kevin Hart fan, and Ride Along 2 is still a sore point in my mind, but I’m consistently on board with Dwayne Johnson… I smell what the Rock is cooking. Will that be enough, if you’re reading this and have watched the trailer, you’ve already made up your mind.

Who should see it: Big dumb action fans, with a bit of heart

The BFG

BFGPosterRating: PG

Starring: Mark Rylance, Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement, Penelope Wilton & Rebecca Hall

Synopsis: A girl named Sophie encounters the Big Friendly Giant who, despite his intimidating appearance, turns out to be a kindhearted soul who is considered an outcast by the other giants because unlike his peers refuses to eat boys and girls.

Why you should care: Steven Spielberg + Roald Dahl = Magic. The master director meets the master of oft-kilter childrens stories. The BFG looks great, as befits a Spielberg movie, but the one question is whether the 100% motion capture performance of the title character will hold up. With Oscar winner Mark Rylance (Bridge Of Spies) on board however, suddenly that becomes a little easier to answer. I’m a big fan of The Witches and Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, so I’m definitely lining up for a ticket.

Who should see it: Dreamers
