The ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Trailer Is All Kinds Of Awesome

The first teaser trailer for Thor: Ragnarok is here and holy hell does it look awesome. This is the third installment in the Thor trilogy and the seventeenth movie overall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Check out the trailer above.

Guardians of the Galaxy‘s influence is felt as the trailer is certainly showcasing a different tone to the first two Thor movies. Led Zeppelin’s ‘Immigrant Song’ blasts over scenes of Chris Hemsworth held captive by the film’s villain, Cate Blanchett’s Hela.

Our Asgardian God is forced to fight in deadly gladiator matches on the planet of Sakaar, ruled by none other than Jeff Goldblum. Taking cues from Greg Pak’s Planet Hulk series, Thor: Ragnarok includes the big guy himself as Hulk  (Mark Ruffalo) roars into battle. We’re finally getting a rematch after Thor and Hulk last threw down in The Avengers.

Thor: Ragnarok takes place directly after Avengers: Age of Ultron, explaining both Thor and Hulk’s abscence during Captain America: Civil War

There are a few short glimpses of Idris Elba’s battle-worn Heimdall and newcomer Tessa Thompson.

Everyone’s favourite villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston makes a few devious appearances, too.

Director Taika Waititi is certainly bringing a fresh tone to the Thor series. The gloominess of Thor: The Dark World has been replaced with bright neons and fun humour.

We here at So, Is It Any Good? are certainly loving our first look at the new film – what do you guys think? Sound off in the comments and on our Facebook page.

Thor: Ragnarok roars into cinemas November 3, 2017.
