New ‘Wonder Woman’ Trailer Shows Off More Amazons

The newest trailer for Wonder Woman is here, showcasing a better look at a young Diana Prince and the Amazon island of Themyscira.

Wonder Woman is the fourth entry into the DCEU following Man of SteelBatman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad. Hopefully, Wonder Woman won’t follow the trend of great trailers leading up to a very ‘meh’ movie.

A traditional origin story, Wonder Woman looks to delve deeper into the Amazonian culture and their home of Themyscira. Diana’s training regime looks intense and badass as the women throw down with swords and Wonder Woman’s trademark Bracelets of Submission.

Here’s the official synopsis of Wonder Woman:

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

The trailer looks impressive; director Patty Jenkins hopefully will be able to breathe new life into the DCEU. The action looks great and stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine fit well into the period piece aesthetic.

However the film still has that typical DC look to it. Instagram inspired blue-grey dreariness and sepia-toned sunsets – it all looks a bit processed.

The awesome theme music is back too, despite feeling a little out of place with the rest of the trailer.

Crossed fingers for this one here at So, Is It Any Good? Here’s hoping Wonder Woman is as wonderful as the trailers make it out to be.

WONDER WOMAN is in cinemas June 2, 2017.
