Kong: Skull Island – Movie Review

Following the 2015 reboot of Godzilla, the eight wonder of the world now makes his return to the big screen, in the form of a 1970s Vietnam war film, Kong: Skull Island.

So, is it any good?Whilst there are a few redeeming features, overall Kong: Skull Island is a cliched action film with way too many characters. Kong himself, while larger than ever before, doesn’t have an ounce of the personality we saw in Peter Jackson’s 2005 remake, and the same can be said for many of the film’s human characters including the supremely talented but under-served Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson. Here’s hoping the much teased match up between Godzilla and Kong can deliver on the hype and give us a monster film that makes us care for the characters whether they be big or small.
