Well, this came out of nowhere. Josh Brolin has reportedly been cast as Cable for Deadpool 2, beating out the likes of previous contenders Michael Shannon and Stranger Things star David Harbor. In a very sly move by Fox, Brolin went under the radar to sign on for not one, but four films, which would likely take him into the planned X-Force films as well.
Brolin is currently in production on Avengers: Infinity War playing the mad titan Thanos, so with todays casting news you can be sure that Thanos won’t be around after the Infinity War sequel.
No release date has been set for Deadpool 2, although it is slated to start production in June with John Wick: Chapter 2 director David Leitch taking over director duties from Tim Miller.
